FAQ – Pasmage

Plasmage is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that uses plasma energy to address many different skin concerns, such as fine lines & wrinkles, uneven skin tone or texture, skin tightening, and more. The treatment is safe, easy, and quick, and has minimal downtime. It is customizable based on the patient’s specific needs, and safe for sensitive areas (such as the eyelids).

Am I a good candidate?

Plasmage is not suitable for everyone. Call 785-246-6400 to schedule a consultation and find out if you are a good candidate for the treatment.

What areas can be treated?

Most areas of the face and body can be treated.

What does the treatment feel like?

We apply topical numbing cream 30 minutes prior to your treatment. This makes the Plasmage procedure comfortable and relatively pain-free. Typically, people just feel a mild warming sensation.

Who performs this treatment?

All Plasmage treatments are performed by one of our well-trained skincare professionals. They are extensively trained before performing our treatments and are overseen by Dr. Ricks.

How many treatments are required?

Some patients only need one treatment, some need more. At a consultation appointment, we will be able to give you a personalized recommendation for how many treatments are appropriate for you.

Are there any side effects?

There are minimal side effects and downtime following a Plasmage procedure. Slight swelling redness, and scabbing in the treated area are common, and resolve quickly, so you can return to work or social activities.

Is there any downtime?

The total healing time depends on each individual, but downtime is typically fairly minimal. Immediately after your treatment, you may notice small dots or scabs in the treated area. These typically fall off within about a week. Many patients also experience some slight swelling and redness for a few days post-treatment.

What kind of post procedure care is required?

Patients should moisturize the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. It is also recommended that patients use a good, broad-spectrum sunscreen daily. In addition to reducing their future risk of skin cancer, sunscreens also reduce wrinkles and slow the aging process.

When will I see results?

Improvement can be noticed immediately after the treatment, and continues for 3-6 months after treatment as new collagen grows making your skin appear more youthful and healthier.

Is maintenance required?

We recommend getting a maintenance treatment every year to maintain your results.

How much does it cost?

Pricing varies based on treatment area. Consult with your provider to determine the cost for your treatments and find out what package and payment plan options are available for you.
