FAQ - Vbeam Perfecta

Vbeam Perfecta is a world-renowned pulsed dye laser which has been recognized as the gold standard technology for the treatment of vascular lesions. This laser treats benign pigmented and vascular lesions, dyschromia, telangiectasia, poikiloderma, bruising, cherry angiomas, spider angiomas, scars, rosacea, and more!

Am I a good candidate?

We recommend all patients come in for a consultation prior to treatment to have their skin assessed and make sure they are a good candidate for the treatment.

What areas can be treated?

Vbeam Perfecta treatments are ideal for the face, neck, and chest.

What does the treatment feel like?

As the laser energy is applied, many patients feel some tingling and slight irritation. There will also be a puff of cool air immediately prior to each pulse of the laser, which helps make the treatment very tolerable. Most patients do not find the treatment uncomfortable.

Who performs this treatment?

All Vbeam Perfecta treatments are performed by one of our well-trained skincare professionals. They are extensively trained before performing our treatments and are overseen by Dr. Ricks.

How many treatments are required?

A series of 1-4 Pico Genesis treatments is recommended to achieve an optimal outcome.

Are there any side effects?

Potential side effects include swelling, bruising, redness, and photosensitivity, which all resolve within 2 weeks.

Is there any downtime?

We recommend for patients to avoid spicy food, excessive heat, heavy exercise, alcohol consumption, and sun exposure for 1-2 weeks after the treatment. There are no restrictions on wearing makeup after the treatment (patients can even apply it immediately afterward if they wish).

When will I see results?

You will see your full results about 4 weeks after your session.

Is maintenance required?

We recommend getting a maintenance treatment once a year to maintain results.
